pro tools 7 upgrade? to plus or not to plus...

I'm going to upgrade to pro tools 7 but I need to figure out if I want to get the plus version or not. Heres the thing. I have waves, so I got most of the plugins I need. I don't need there compressor. I'd probably get the loop plugin, or the restoration or the EQ.

My question, is it worth it to go plus? and if so, if i already have waves, which plugins do you think I'd benefit from most?

thanks in advance for the suggestions

Let's do the math.

For an extra $25 you can get $1100 worth of software.

I really don't see what the question is.

I did want the compressor's, DINR, and the Pultecs and couldn't make up my mind. So I bought the Plus upgrade twice. So for $200 I have Pro Tools 7 and $2000 worth of plugs.

I *love* the Pultecs. They are what sold me on the idea in the first place. DINR is really handy, as well, though its about the same deal as Waves X-noise if you have that.

Take care,
Chris

Chris, do you have any idea how the Pultec plugin compares to the Pultec in the UAD-1 card? If it's anywhere near the UAD-1 Pultec, I would say it's a no-brainer to purchase the Upgrade Plus just to get the Pultec plug.

alright, I guess that settles it.

I'll definitely get the pultec if it comes so highly recommended. I'm just not sure how much use I'll get out of the loop plug-in

n8tron,
What style of music do you usually work in? That will have a good bearing on which plugins you might find useful.

If you have a dual processor computer the plugin count being tripled is reason enough to buy 7 IMO.

I didnt buy the plus upgrade.

I allready have the uad.

And none of the free plugs seemed appealing to me.

Why spend money when you dont need to?

Good practice is to wait.

Never buy the first version of anything. wait until they have a 7.3.

Of course having said that, it seems to earn me an anonymus negative review, of course, I'll earn my negative review proudly.

To each his own and may proper experience prevail.
