Boss/Roland Mic Modellers

Hey Everybody.

On the Vs machines and some BR machines, they have a Mic Modelling patch.

When the mic modeller goes from a Sm57 to a 421 or 451....

What is a 421 ?

What is a 451 ?

(I did some looking, it seems Senheisser makes a 421, and AKG makes a 451, is this what they are modelling ?)

Does anybody here use the Mic modeller ?

Correct.

Both correct. The 421 is Sennheiser (a dynamic) and the 451 is AKG (a condenser). I think Roland accomplishes the mic-modeling by using EQ to mimic the mic response.

The 421 and 451 are actually pretty good, I use them for a clean natural sounding vocal every other here and there.
