Soundproof windows dealers?

I'm looking for a 2'X2" or larger soundproof window for my studio project and I'm wondering where to get the best pricing. The only source I've found so far is SoundSuckers.com Anyone know of any other sources out there?

Call your local glass companies in the Yellow Pages.

the cheep way

A) go to local housing salvage place

B) find old exterior glass door (make sure it's 2 pane)

C) remove glass from door (piece will be about 2X5, use it the long way)

D) build hole to glass size.

not the best way, but you'll save a ton of money.

Search the yellow pages or the Internet for "lexan" and your city.

This is my plan too. Except I'm going to have the glass cut to size to fit my windows.

Also, I'm planning to get a sliding glass door which is more like 5' x 7'.

it's sealed glass, cut the glass, brake the seal.

Sorry, I didn't read the part about it being dual pane.

I was not planning to get dual pane, I was instead going to get 2 whole doors (that glass is about 1/4" thick) and make 1 or 2 windows out of each door. No seal to break.

Each window in the studio will be built into it's own wall, with dual walls I won't need dual panes. There will be two panes of glass between the rooms.

Going for Extreme Isolation!

call your local glaizer and have the glass cut to size, two different thicknesses, thickest on the control room side and make them at different angles to each other. Glass is so cheap, why use salvage?

The big question is, argon filled or laminated? Now THAT question comes down to price.

Honestly, I haven't priced it yet, but 1/4" thick glass I think is quite expensive.
