Anyone familiar with the album FOCUS by CYNIC?????
I know it's probably a huge longshot that anybody around here is a CYNIC fan...add to that the fact that you can't find this album anywhere anymore.....anyways
If anyone does know this album, I'm sure you're familiar with the "alien" vocals of Paul Masvidal. Does anybody have any insight on how this was done? I've heard that it might have been just a Digitech "Vocalist" put to good use, but I'm not sure that is totally accurate. However, I've never used any kind of vocal harmonizer so I really don't know what's possible. If anyone is familiar with the Digitech Vocalist, does it make sense that you might achieve the sort of slightly synthetic, ethereal vocals heard on this album? Anyone have any other advice on capturing a similar sound? Thanks in advance and a big thumbs up to any Cynic fans that may dwell around here! ![]()

Wow, it's been a while since I've listened to Cynic. As for the vox, I believe it was just a Vocoder with some harmony.
