Mackie: CR vs. VLZ

hi!
i own a home studio and im going semi-pro.
i own a 1642 VLZ but someone offered me really chep an old CR 1604.

i know all the difference in feautures, but wanted to compare the PRE`s, anyone has any info on this?

i dont NEED the board, but maybe if it is much better i can use it instead of mine, or pehaps ill need it in the future....

thancks for any input!

Don't buy anything you don't NEED.

The CR 1604 is the original version of Mackie's compact mixer line. If you already have the 1642 VLZ then you have a mixer that's an improvement over the CR 1604.
