Can anyone tell me anything about this kit based on this rather unhelpful photo? It's an offer of a private sale but I have no idea about where it might sit in the used kit market price range!!!
http://www.mytempdir.com/267485 Thanks guys, Nik

Can't tell you much other than he's got the rack toms reversed.

I wouldn't go any higher than $450 for it, if it includes cymbals. Why? #1. Single braced hardware - which means it's a "lower" drum line -probably an APK or whatever they were - they had two economy lines, one painted and one covered - (that looks like a painted finish, but it may not be) , in the late 80's early 90's when Premier was owned by Yamaha - and those are type of stands they made - notice that they look exactly like Yamaha's cymbal stands from that era. #2. Because if you want to get additional toms, you might have a hard time finding them. Now, since you are in the UK - Premier drums might be easier to find over there used - sort of like Ludwig's are here - you can get used Ludwigs all day long for fairly cheap. Just about every decent pawnshop has a used Ludwig tom or two in there for relatively cheap. So, perhaps it's that way in the UK for Premier's since they are made there. There is a rack of some description with it too ... this is an older photo but apparently there's a big rack and some more hardware and cymbals ... although I think I'd bin those Sab Pros and start again!!

Tim nailed it. It's a 5 piece low level Premier kit. Like most companies, Premier makes great top of the line drums. They also make entry level kits. The hardware is a hint. Also, and I might be wrong because It's been a while, but I used to work in the drum shop of a very big music store a few years ago, Premier better lines of drums don't have seperate lugs on the toms. It's one long lug. This one has seperate lugs. I can't tell what kind of cymbals those are, but if they're not higher end Zildjian, Sabian or Paiste, then the kit isn't worth more than $400.

It's a Premier Cabria, Link to another pic. I recall on a drum forum a guy picking one up for $200 (entire kit & Zildjian ZBT cymbals).
I'm pretty sure the model is early to mid 1990's, before the XPX and APK line was introduced, dont quote me on that thou ![]() |

That older model primier cabrias are not bad sounding. My old drum teacher had a premier cabria snare that sounded simple amazing. If the price is right I would go for this kit. The premeir cabria sell for 2 grand canadian i believe and I have played those kits before.
