palmtop multitrack

zoom is about to release a totally portable, pocket size multitrack. It's really fits my soon to be situation - as I will not be able to have studio equipment with me for a long time.
I'm trying to figure out what exatctly you can do. It says you have 3 audio tracks, as well as 2 internal drum machine tracks (programable??) and 1 internal bass track (also programable??). So does that mean it has 6 tracks total, but you can only record on 3?
It also has bult in effects, amp modeler, track bouncing, etc.
it says the discs hold 17 minutes, but thats at 32kHz which sucks. But can you sample higher?

I read the specs in my seetwater catalog, and from what I understand at $499.00 street it can record up to 2 tracks of music with available git and drum traks of which I beleieve you can't record on. But like you said you won't get great sound quality at 32hz and the time limitations on recording is weak, but it's a cool tool for capturing that song idea in your head when you don't have the available means to put it on a recording medium.

Actually, you can record 3 tracks of audio. And then, you have three additional tracks (2 for drums and 1 for bass) which are internal, and you can't record on them.
My big questions are - are the bas/drum patterns programable?
can you plug in a mic, instead of using the built in one?

ouch - but the media really gets you.
A 64mb smartmedia card is like $150!
That's I think about an hour of recording time.
