The next CD, no matter who runs it, will be much easier. I see now that there are things that could have been done to speed the process up substantially.

I was actually talking to someone a while back about future comp cd's....it might be fun to do a "theme" CD in which each person writes & records a song about some pre-determined topic.

But we do need to continue with these regular comp CD's. It will really be interesting to watch the progress of each artist/engineer over the years. Plus we'll probably pick up a lot of newcomers.

Could you guys please tell me the basic premise behind the Comp CD? Is anybody welcome to submit...if you do another CD?
Are the recordings done by the individuals and their respective bands/friends, or are these tunes done between members on the list here?
What is the criteria for accepting/refusing tunes?
Do they have to meet a quality standard as far as production goes?
I have done alot of distance recordings with members of the "Heepsters On The Web" ( fans of Uriah Heep, see http://www.uriah-heep.com/heepsteria/dreamer.htm for some info on a studio project we came together on) over the past few years and we have become pretty familiar with the problems involved in doing compilation works, where most of the tunes were done by musicians sending tapes or Cakewalk files back and forth around the world. Our first efforts were horrible in sound quality. They were done on cassette machines with differing noise reduction, tape speeds etc. But we have learned over the past few years to try to sync our equipment better and the results are really coming around. Not that I am suggesting that you guys do this here, I guess I'm mainly interested in doing a tune on the next one if that would be a possibility. If it's not too much to ask, could you list the rules and requirements here? I sure appreciate your time and effort and I look forward to possibly joining you all in making some new music.
BTW, I like the idea of writing the tunes to a predetermined subject or idea. Rock on! bOb
