heads for a semi-beginner

i dont play drums, so im looking for some help here

my brother has been playing drums for about a year and a half, and its time for new heads. He mostly does classic rock and punk-pop covers, with a set of pacific? drums. He doesnt understand the importance of new heads, so I have to change them for him. What heads do you guys suggest???

I agree. Although a coated CS Ambassador(dot underneath) works great on snare. Pinstripes are good for beginners as they color the sound a bit and hide bad tuning. An ambassador only sounds good when its tuned correctly, but when in tune, it sounds amazing.

EVans G2's batter (top), Evans G1's resonant (bottom). EVans Power Center on snare, and I don't know about the bottom snare head. Evans EQ3 on bassdrum sounds good too.

g2's

Hi,

The evans G2's are coated and are also double ply oil filled same as pinstripes and will help conceal bad tuning. They also give a nice round sound for the toms and when recorded sound perfect for the sort of music he will be using them for.

agree w/ bonzo

Evans Glass 2 ply Hydraulics...or Remo Pinstripes... sweet for studio work... If you ever heard the drums on higher love back in the 80s.. that was my remo kit w/ pinstripes... great for recording
