Drum throne that doesn't squeak?

I keep getting annoyed by the cheap throne that came with my set. It squeaks at the slightest motion. I've added some felt in certain places to reduce it, but it still sometimes squeaks annoyingly.

Every throne I find in web store searches either has nearly zero customer comments or has a comment about it squeaking. Thus, I figured I'd ask here....

Can anyone recommend a throne that doesn't squeak?

You should use some WD40. I use on my throne to stop squeaking.

In my case, it's more of a groaning, squeaking, clanking, and various other things. Ludwig really didn't make this thing well. It's a center shaft inside another center shaft with NO rubber gaskets to support it. Metal on metal, with an air gap in-between. Oh, and it is supported by something that looks like a carriage bolt. Makes noise around that, too.

When you rock the top, it shifts a quarter inch with ease, and makes LOUD noises. It's sad when you can hear the throne cutting through the cymbals....

Basically, it's so far from a decent design for recording that it isn't even funny. If I were gigging with the thing, it'd probably be perfectly fine, but... for recording... hopeless.
