Hip Hop Piccolo snare
Hey, I've been looking for a good piccolo, sharp, Hip Hop snare. Does anyone know a good one, and also a good head for it. I'm really going for a quick limp bizkit type of snare, something thats very similar to a marching band snare with more ring.
Thanks

*DISCLAIMER*
All of the adjectives used in this post are highly subjective To my ears a good hip hop snare sound would be dry with lots of *pop* to it, with very little ring. I had a 3x13 bronze piccolo from Tama, same as the Korn's drummer used (cept he used a 14) and it had waaaay to much ring (without muffling that is)to it for what I think you'd be using it for. I would reccomend a wood shell over metal, possibly a smaller diameter (like 13" or even 12") and to find a snare with a good thick shell because they tend to be more focused and have greater projection, rather than sound loose.
