D-16 vs. Roland VS-880

Theres a used Roland VS-880 for sale locally for $1000CDN, but I hear it only has four inputs, and I also heard that it doesn't have an output on each channel. I'm also thinking of buying a D-16, or the VSR-880 which has inputs and outputs for each channel. Im looking to record some stuff with my Alesis SR-16 and POD as well as doing recordings for my band and i was wondering if anyone could help me out as to what would be best... thanks.
