Anyone done a DIY Leslie cab?

I'm interested in building a Fender Vibratone-style rotating speaker cabinet (same as Leslie 16/18). Basically, it is a single speaker with no crossover, etc, and the drum rotates on the vertical plane instead of horizontal. Any ideas?

I've wanted to DIY build me a leslie too, but I was confronted with a floorspace problem in my studio. So I've found a far better alernative that takes up 1U rackspace, sounds absolutely stunning and I don't have to spend time and costs to mike it up (and it's not noisy):

a Dynacord CLS222 with remote control

Bought this one for 150 Euro (they go around 250 normally) on eBay and I can confirm the positive reviews on the net.

Just a suggestion in case you got space limitations.
