melody issue

Hi everybody.....when it comes to song writing i dont have an problem with lyrics....but i never seem to get a tune...or melody......i always end up singing to a famous songs tune not my own..it's erritating.....

any advice for creating melodies ?

hmmm, the only advice that i can give you is learn the guitar or piano and learn some basic scale patterns.

i play guitar,bass,piano,drums and sing......i've tried making melodies but i always end up going to a song that already exists.......

Are you coming up with chord progressions or anything before you try to find a melody?

yea defintly....i'll give ago at it tomorrow again and if i end up messing up again...then i'll come back and ask 4 more help thnx !!
