Red face

I am currently using Yamahas XG Works sequencer program. It is pretty cool, but I have the "LITE" version that came with one of the Yamaha products that I have. It is a bit limiting, because it is not the full version...
I need to get a full blown sequencer program to use with my sampler, keyboards, and vs...

I'd like to get something that will have an easy way to program drums besides the piano roll. (The full version of the yamaha sequencer looks like it has a cool drum programming application). I would also like something that converts audio notes into midi. (Humming melodies, using guitar to input notes, etc.)

SO, who's using what and what do you guys suggest and why???

Sorry, i don't have any ideas...

...I'm looking for a sequencer myself.

I too want good drum programming, and in fact, I don't want pianoroll-style at all. My thinking is completely pattern based, and my favorite sequencer is ReBirth!

So I basically want something like this:
- Windows software OR dedicated hardware.
- Pattern based.
- Sync to MTC/SMPTE or other smart/song-pointer sync.
- Be able to turn on and off patterns / channels while running.
- Storing and sending control data with pattern.
- Ability to send program change.

Optional but nice:
- Be able to turn on and off patterns / channels remotely by MIDI.
- Be able to transpose patterns while running, preferrably by MIDI.
- Arpeggiator functionality.

What the...!?!?! You say? Why? Why? Why?
Well, I basically want to be able to have a seqencer that I could run and modify things, turn patterns on and off and all that in a Live situation, for Techno / dnb music.

Anything similar to this is of interest!
