how to get FX into vegas

i have Lexicon reverb installed how do i use it in vegas?

I just drag the .dll file into my plugins folder in Vegas...

i tried that and it didnt work (as a matter of fact, none of the effects packages taht i have are working in vegas -- not even the ones that are supposed to be "native" to Sony vegas.

Even the "memory" is gone -- that is, there are songs that I have completed, finished adding effects to, finished mixing, etc. When I open them up, there are no effects loaded and I know I had effects loaded. When I try to load them again, I get a message saying "can not load this effect" or soemthing like that!!!?????
