getting into home recording & just bought the tascam us 122,any hints,tips,advice for this contraption would be helpful

Read the Getting Started guide and follow it to the letter. It's a pretty versatile and handy device for recording once you get it up and running, and realize what it can do. If you have specific questions as you go along, please post them.
