Question Archiving Your Work

Noobie (to the forum) wondering how people are archiving their completed works. Are you just keeping the finished product/master? All tracks? If so, in what form? Contained in a hermetically-sealed mayonaisse jar on Funk & Wagnall's back porch or what?

Hi,

I back up constantly on 2 DVDRW's. Once I'm done They both have everything needed to reopen the track including user presets, audio, midi and cubase files.

... I hate to lose work!

Archiving Work

Fishybob,

Good idea tp backup on removable media. I have 2 HDs in my computer. Right now I'm USBing to my secondary HD from my keyboard setting backups and making a backup of my Cubase Tracks on my secondary hard drive. But I'm screwed if my HDs ever go tits-up . Thinking about a ZIP drive too.

I also have a partition on my programs harddrive that I back up to... Nothing like being paranoid!

I also don't keep the DVD's in the same room. I have nightmares about burgerlars taking pc and discs (like they'd even know what was on them!).

I had a HD die on me a while ago, never losing that much work again!

ZIP drive?? what year is this??

Get an external hard drive. I recommend Seagate. Comes with software. I have mine scheduled to back up at midnight. Once it's done a full back up, subsequent back ups only copy what's been changed.
