Look up Extreme Isolation 'phones. They are basically hearing protectors with drivers built in. It's as good as you're going to get, but nothing like perfect. I use them with musicians earplugs in, so I can really blast the volume without causing brain damage, it helps drown out the outside noise.

I saw a similar product, cheaper, branded by one of the big drum companies, maybe Remo. I haven't used them, and therefore can't verify they are the same, but they look to be about the same. The EI's have very efficient drivers, so they can really blast the dB's. Otoh, they are not very accurate, lacking in the highs. I rely on them to set levels while avoiding distortion, I don't trust them for specific tones.

They are great for keeping playback feedback out of vocal mics.

all the drummers I get in really dig the Sennheiser HD280's that I have. Good isolation and low end.

I use a set of industrial strength ear protectors and a pair of ear bud phones when tracking drums. Works like a dream & cost virtually nothing
