So I've got $900ish to work with...(its one of those threads)

Hey guys
I hate posting "spend my money" threads but I'm really pretty stumped here.
I've got about $900 to play with (give or take 250 if I sell some gear I have)

I need an audio interface.
I need a mixing console.

I was looking at behringers mx9000, which is a little over my head and couldnt find a used one if i was really trying anyway..
also i was told i shouldnt buy used behringer, which makes sense. QC isnt super good..

I've started to look into the Soundcraft M12, although I'd like at least 16 channels... I've considered the Mackie 1604VLZ and 1642VLZ.. I've loved A&H from my DJing days (XOne series DJ mixers ROCK!) but don't know if I can find a A&H board in my price range.. Roughly $600

As for audio interface, I think I'm going to get a MOTU 2408 used on ebay or something as they seem to go for around $250 or $300.. any other interface's in that pricerange worthwhile? I wish I could pull off an 828 :-\

Basically I'm looking for suggestions mostly in the mixer department.
I'll be recording drums and vocals regularly, and probably full bands once or twice a month. I also have some synth's and eventually plan to purchase a few more..
Help!
Cheers,
Scott

$600 for a Presonus Firepod and you won't need a mixer.

I agree. For the money, the Firepod is an excellent deal and starter interface. You don't need a mixer to get started!
