388 rubber-cleaning
I just have a small question,
I need to get my rubber parts clean in my 388 and I read somewhere here on the forum that caig's "RBR" is really good - unfortuanly I'm not able to get it but I can get this one: http://store.caig.com/s.nl/sc.2/category.200/.f Caig's "CaiKleen TRP" anyone got any experience with this one? it also says: ** COMPATIBILITY: Test on plastic parts before using. May effect some plastics, elastomer parts, ABS, polystyrene and acrylics. These plastics are not usually used on electronic parts: circuit boards, switches, connectors, etc. scared me off a bit =) and oh, usual isopropyl will do for the heads right? (going to clean those aswell) ... |

Why risk the potential damage to the rubber on your 388 ? Just order the "RBR". Btw, try to use a lint free cloth dampened (not wet) with warm water and see if you can't clean the rybber rollers that way first. If all is good and you have checked that the rubber pinch roller especially GRIPS the tape well then you can probably be ok without any chemical rubber cleaners. Still, it'd be a good thing to do a once over with the RBR and then do the damp cloth for preventative cleaning after that. ~Daniel |
