M-Audio Oxygen8 latency problems

I bought the m-audio oxygen8 yesterday and I’m having some latency problems.
It comes with only a USB cable and a driver CD. Installed it all properly and it works however, I have a 30 millisecond delay before I hear a sound. So I said fairynuff, I will just have to get a midi cable and try it again. No such luck.
I played around with all the settings in reason, and I think it should all be working properly. Does anyone with this keyboard or sound card have any clue what to do? (I did have a look on m-audio for the latest drivers, and I have installed the latest for my E-MU card.)

My sound card is the E-MU 0404
Software I’m using is Cubase SX2 and reason3
Operating system win XP pro (service pack 2)
Pentium 4 3.2GHz

You have good gear, some of which I own, and I have no such latency problems. I can assure you that it is not the Oxygen8 which is causing the mammoth latency either over USB or a midi connection.

You need to make sure that you are taking advantage of the ASIO drivers that your EMU soundcard came with and nothing else.

Yeah, it's not the MIDI controller that's the issue, it's the time it takes for the softsynth to respond.
