Feedback Wanted, Pleeeaaase!

Hi guys, this is my first attempt at home recording so I would like some frank and honest feedback. I only have a short slice on the site but there are things that I would value your opinion on, such as;

1. Song quality - I'm doing this more with a view to selling songs than trying to hit it big.
2. General Mix
3. Vocal mix (I seem to be struggling to get a vocal sound that I'm satisfied with)
4. Any other constructive criticism you may have.

The song clip is here: www.phil-rowe.net

TIA!!

The overall sound is not too bad. The vocals are getting lost in the mix in some spots. If you're looking to sell songs, I think the vocals need to stay on top a bit more than you have them. Along the same lines, you might consider using a bit less "production," so that the production doesn't drown out the song. Let the song stand on its own feet. LOL at the cheesy organ sound.

It would be good to hear a full song rather than a snippet, to get a better idea where you're trying to go with it.

The cheesy organ sound is rather nostalgic, isn't it? My wife describes it as hideous - I'll probably replace it, I'm just not sure what with yet. Thanks for the post

Thumbs up

Due to the really crappy computer speakers that I have here at work, I can't give you a true critique on sound quality, but I can say that I like the content of the song as well as the rhythm.

The song rocks!
However, I don't see as the kinda song that will sell.
Sooooo......
Just freakin' finish it. I like the way the kik and bass are out in front with the vox burried..... but just a little too burried.. (my spellin' prolly sux on account of da beer :-p )
To me, it dont matter what you are singing, its just another instrument.
Oh.. i like the organ!

Thanks guys!
I think maybe I should explain the production a bit....I don't think I'll manage to get it perfect: the whole thing is done on a little Boss 8 track recorder (about the size of a desk notebook). As far as production goes there really isn't any post-recording production to do....virtually the entire thing is a 'print' what you here is what went in..I am able to add some reverb, delay and tweak the EQ after recording, but that takes about 10 minutes! I recorded a version with just acoustic guitar and bass and, while I agree that this one sounds like something I would put on one of my own demos, the acoustic version leaves loads of room to change the style of the song to suit.
That's the
Any more out there?
