MBox Vs MBox2

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me if the pres on the MBox 2 are as good as the MBox. The MBox2 does not come with Focusrite pres so I'm not sure which to get. Can anyone help me?

Digi, of course, says the pres in the M2 are better.

I'm happy enough with the pres in the Mbox, but they wouldn't be that hard to beat. In this case the name "Focusrite" carries more weight than it delivers. The M2 offers a few things that are well worth the difference in price, though: MIDI, and the possiliity of 4 i/o using both the analog and S/PDIF inputs.

The M2 is still really new, though, so there probably aren't all that many folks out there who have used both versions and can comment. The M2 is targeted towards new owners and not really at getting people to replace their original Mboxes.
