Can I use a Roland TD-10 to trigger a Fostex FD4 to start recroding?
Hello folks,
I've burned through the manuals, and still can't figure out a way to do this, and now I"m turning to you experts! I've recorded some drum patters into the TD-10, and what I want to do is have the TD-10 trigger the FD4 to start recording as soon as I hit play on the TD-10. I have set the time signature on both the TD10 and FD4, and it'd be nice to have them in sync for easy editing. Is this possible? Or is MIDI even set up to do this? Thanks! |

You would need both the TD-10 and the Fostex recorder to be able to communicate in a midi sub-protocol called MMC or Midi Machine Control. I have a suspicion that neither device is sophisticated enough - or expensive enough - to have this implemented.

That's kinda what I figured
Thank you for your response. I did keep coming across MMC in the manuals, but was just hoping I was missing something simple. Back to breaking out the manuals and figuring out other ways to do this
