album covers

I got to thinking about this little idea a while back, but decided now was the time to let everyone know.

I've been thinking that a lot of fam here are probably working on tracks for upcoming albums and CDs and all that. How many of you either make your own artwork or are thinking of paying for it?

I'm thinking of a business proposition, a trade off if you wanna call it that. I'd be willing to do some artwork for upcoming albums for free. All I want is credit for the artwork and to be able to add one of my songs that I may have at the end of your CD as promo.

I'll probably be adding this to the new website I'm drawing up plans for now. Let me know what your opinion is on that idea? I'd much rather help you guys out in exchange for free promo both ways instead of you having to pay someone to do it for you. That'd be dope...never thought of that before. I've got to sneak into a hospital to do my album cover. Shouldn't be too hard...they'll just look at me funny for having a camera in that mf.

I have that one and a couple of others if the whole hospital bit doesn't work....which I'm skeptical. I know it boosts your sales if you get arrested but not for that! LOL. I got one with the background of my hometown of Dallas in it and another with an unnamed city on fire in the background. If hotmail will give me those back...I'll post them.

All of this and as I'm recording Contagious, I'm writing songs for the next one called "Da Otha Side". Those pics should come fairly easy.

feelin your second one more. the text up top is raw. try a couple of things with the contagious font.

i'm feeling fieva's second one more also, it's not as busy as the first but like you said, they are both nice.

I liked the 2nd one more myself. The covers aren't final. It's just to get an idea of how the text with the pics were going to work. The text was kind of splashed on in about 5 mins....I usually take about 30 with text alone. I figure the room on the sides of me would give me enough for the parental advisory label and the featured guest listing (like I'm not gonna list my homies who put in verses on the front and the insert...please)

I was just hoping that people weren't going to think I was trying to spoof 9/11 with that one....so I had the other one just in case.

dont have any examples though.
maybe ill make mine even the album isnt anywhere near done.
been using photoshop for a while though.

That's the first thing that came to mind, lol. But they're both nice. When do you plan on releasing it?

I'm planning to drop in Feb 2006, but I'll push it up if I see I'm getting done with everything quicker than I thought. Of course, I'll let fam here cop burned copies of it for nada (probably way before I drop).

I'm going to have to add in something like "The artwork depicted for this CD is in no way shape or form a relation to the tragic events of 9/11 nor is it a parody or spoof of it."
