I have the Tube Ultra-Q T1951 and one of the first things I did when I got it home was removed the cover to have a look inside. It has lights behind the tudes also.

If it weren't Behringer, I wouldn't believe it. That is just scummy!

LOL I can't believe any of you seriously thought the tubes actually glowed in these cheap starved plate designs. And if you guys think behringer is the only one that does this check out a tubepre by presonus they use red leds behind the tubes in it. I owned one when I didn't know anything about recording and was like wow that tube glows red, my little brother took it apart and said "hey its just an led". I also think that article is kind of a joke, not that I'm a berhinger fan i think their stuff sounds like utter crap. The author does a lot of speculation and doesn't seem totally informed about what he's getting in to. What do you expect from a hundred dollar pre.

I've been tempted by their bass-pod ripoff, but I think I'll leave off that one. I can't believe people buy this shit.

Yeah, but I was suspending my 'ethical reflex' too. I don't like how Behringer 'develops' their products.
Still, at 100 Euros, it is tempting. Nah. Just spent 2000 on a new recorder. Wife'd kill me! ![]()
