I've only got 300 dollars and this looks like my best option to get the tascam DP-01 this would be my first recording system ever and i was wondering what you all thought about it

is it worth it?

does the harddrive blank out after a couple of months?

should i get it?

i have had the dp01-fx (same as dp-01, except there are some built in effects) for a few months. i used to have a cheap portastudio, but i never used it, and consider myself very much a beginner. i have enjoyed using the dp01-fx and have had no problems with it.

check bsw.com. they offer package deals on these that come with mics, headphones, etc.

Were you able to use the manual and download recordings into your computer. I still haven't figured it out.
