I own a small extreme sports video production company, we make mountain bike videos, all east coast riders and locales.were working on our 4th release right now and could use some music so I can stop recording and mixing and mastering and continue editing video.
we dont sell a whole lot of dvd's, but we do move a few...125 vhs tapes our first time, 300 dvds our 2nd release, and 150 or so more of our last release but that was a race only video. Anyway, heres the bottom line...we dont make $hit, we just barely break even after all is said and done, we do it more because we enjoy it rather then to get rich.I do use a bunch of my own music and its great to have all the exposure for the tunes....a "captive" audience so to speak. Nonetheless, this is an oppurtunity to get your music heard, the vids sell in many new england area bike shops, online, and anywhere else we can get to carry them. we cant pay you for your music, but we will give you a retail ready copy of the dvd and you can use it in your presskit, clip the video and put it on your website for dl, or whatever ya want really. there are samples of our work here, the last video we produced is entitled ADHD, feel free to download it. www.flyingpolackproductions.com http://www.flyingpolackproductions.com/video/index.html and no thats not my real studio on the music page. i wish. please email boab@flyingpolackproductions.com if you wish to submit material for consideration, all styles of music welcome. we will need a release form signed as well. thanx alot for reading this

20 something views and no responses and no emails.
I guess it must be that you all already have killer exposure and PR guys providing you w everything you need, and your music is already being used in a commercially viable fashion.Well thats great, And I sincerely wish you all the best. I personally would have jumped at this chance to have my music heard and used in a publicly marketed sports video.....oh well I tried. thanx again for reading.

Dude, if I had anything recorded I would jump at the chance. Though I don't know how well a pop/rock/jam sound would fit in that sort of vid. PM me with your email and I will definitely keep it in mind in the future.

i have plenty of music that would fit pretty well, but it wouldnt be free, i would have to maintain copywrite, and at least receive a percentage of the profits (or upfront cash)... if you sold 300 dvd's last time ($3000-7500 gross income), you have to expect to sell more this time, especially with a sweet soundtrack... there will be paperwork/contracts and the like involved... e-mail me if still interested, i wouldnt mind trying to work something out.

Im pretty sure i was perfectly clear about being interested in FREE music. And your number crunching is quite amusing, you must be that silent partner i always wished I had huh?And believe me my wife wishes you were correct. And NO I dont want any copywrights, whatever for?I write my own stuff and I dont even need anyone elses really, Im merely interested in licensing some tunes for my vids in exhange for exposure for some unknown folks deserving such a thing......its not everyday someone pops on here and offers to put your music in an extreme sports video is it? maybe it is....i dont know im new here. Anyhow, thanx everyone else that read and commented, I appreciate it. i have a couple responses now and am anxious for more. thanx again. Jay

you must be able to at least offer some percentage of the profits. even if it is miniscule. and yes, my music is already being used commercially.

being asinine won't get you free music - I don't want anything from you, nor would I ever work with you now - VERY unprofessional behavior...
that's fine if that is your offer, but you should respond kindly to every question asked, even if you think it is stupid - that's just good business... now I know why they don't sell very well. |

Unlike you{green} apparently, I have a LIFE, and am too busy to deal w a bunch of childish-wannabe-musicians that want nothing more than to read their own jibberish posts and ask retarded, if not moronic questions.(obviously Im not referring to all of you) I put up this original post in the most basic text, was BLATANTLY clear about my intentions, very honest and up front, and even provided samples of my work.......all in a very PROFESSIONAL fasion. Now you accuse me of unprofessionalism because of the way i handled a bunch of stupid and redundant questions that I simply dont have time to deal with? Okay ...well then thats cool, what do you make of this? You Sir, Can go F*!k yourself. oh and another thing....... NOW YA CAN SAY iM UNPROFESSIONAL, ASSWIPE.

look 'I ate my bass', you are an asswipe, and apparantly a horrible business man, you cant even comprehend the difference between gross and net profits, the bands on my label, get at least $200 a night, unless its for a charity event, even though you are close to a charity you are still a business..
i specialize in hardcore and punk... both would be perfect for your vids, however the band (your band)that you put on your vids is not even close to extreme (i listened to your songs )... prog-jam-rock is not extreme!! ... and before you turned into an ass on this forum, I would have still considered working with you, to help you out, but now, I dont think so.. you can fill your vids with what are probably poorly played and recorded songs submitted by desperate artists, and i will be sure not to watch them |

your label? wtf does that have do w anything there sharpie? no one was looking to book a band here Sharon Osbourne, so chill out. Your completely lost, so I guess Ill try to respond as nicely as possible. Where in my post does it say IM LOOKING FOR EXTREME MUSIC? IT DOES NOT...... the riding is extreme, not the music.Although I do some work w 12cent, a local Boston punk band. I mustve posted 3 or 4 times now all styles accepted!!!!! so all your little bullshit insults directed at the tunes I use, are not only pointless and childish , but they are in actuality useless drivel and do not even fit the context of this discussion properly. You would have still considered working w me? thats funny too. hmmmmm......well I wouldnt work w you and heres why, If your incapable of reading and interpreting a simple internet forum post correctly, your far from what Im looking for to begin with. This is getting entertaining now, what else ya got? ![]()

I feel bad for you. I'm not cursing at people I don't know on a message board on the internet. You have a life... that's nice... everyone here does and I respect many people on this board, but your behavior is just unnecessary and rude.
Calling me childish and saying I don't have a life... attacking me personally is not professional. It doesn't matter what you say after you start cursing and insulting people... it's not professional. I fully expect some pugnacious retort from you. (You can look up pugnacious in the dictionary too. Then you can post the definition and make fun of me for using it.) When you first posted, I really was considering sending you something. Perhaps next time you'll maintain a professional demeanor. |

uh huh.
and perhaps next time you will read the post correctly the first time and not act like an ignoramus towards someone thats simply looking to present the meMbers of this forum w an oppurtunity they may not get otherwise. you want to discuss unprofessionalism? ![]() okay...lets see..... How about responding to a post by telling the POSTER what he or she does, and what he or she makes for profit, and what they should or shouldnt do when in REALITY the POSTER is simply trying to provide an oppurtunity for people. And YOU have absolutely no idea about what your talking.the word "ungreatful" comes to mind. THAT IS UNPROFESSIONALISM. And consequently, so Is asking repeated questions about a topic that is very obviously explained in a Professional Manner. Note how I retained my professionalism until provoked w idiotic responses wich I will respond to however the F i see fit, Im not CBS Sports man, Not even close, and this isnt my full time job, and again, I will not be bothered w bullshit questions or responses,Ive been there and done that, nope thanx. And as far as my "curses" go...get the F over it....Ive been on this board long enough to know what I just posted here is MELLOW in comparison w some of the bullshit Ive read here. This board is moderated about as well as a turkish prison riot, so dont go trying to make a mountain out of a molehill,I have no patience for ignorance in a situation like this, and thats JUST what Ive seen and read posted by people like you.

Cursing is unprofessional, "unprofessionalism" isn't a word, and it's spelled "ungrateful".
Professional means that when you receive "idiotic"... well let's call them "not well thought-out" responses, you will try to explain it to them in a way that is more easily understood - without offending them and acting like what they say is stupid or not important. Be courteous and respectful and you will get a courteous and respectful response. When the issue was brought up about getting a percentage of the profit, you didn't need to respond at all. If you did, you could have said... "Sorry, I'm not making enough to do that at this time, but if they do start selling then we can work something out." Instead you ... well you can read what you wrote. You came off as arrogant and just mean. |

please forgive my horrid spelling and grammar, I didnt realize that "counts", how about leaners? Do they "count"? or is it just ringers? and yes thanx, I learn from everything I get involved in, and this post is no different. your perception of what i may have learned is probably a bit different than mine. thank you for shopping at wal-mart, and have a nice day. ![]()

ya see, heres the problem snappy. I dont feel the need to "explain" what Ive already posted in plain english to YOU or the F'in pope for that matter. My post was very easy to understand, and its just plain ignorant and rude to ask someone to repeat what they have already stated in plain simple American English as a direct result of that persons inability to comprehend what was originally posted. And the issue that was brought up about getting a percentage of the profit was also especially IGNORANT and RUDE not to mention vastly innappropriate{sp}.Particularly when considering the title of the thread.....FREE MUSIC NEEDED !!!! great idea, go tell the guy that wants free music that youll sell him some. ....and then tell him how he much he netted from his last project as well....Brilliant! Arrogant and mean? .....considering the environment, I can live w that.
