I agree with first G-Unit's screw up. But like 50 said, "Game's shit sells, Bank's shit sells, Buck's shit sells - I'm rich as, hell"
I don't really feel Yayo's style lyrically, and I don't think any amount of production can fix that. I personally think that Buck and Banks should form a duo. I also wonder how much Kanye's anti-Bush statements are helping him catch extra spotlight. Not like he really needs it, but he did take that opportunity to speak his mind to a mass audience on that shit. |

yayo, i never felt that cat. I've had people swear that he was hotter than anything out. it sounds like he tries too hard to be something he's not, and that's a rapper. he needs to stick to being a hype man. it seems like a lot of rappers make a big name for themselves and they share the spotlight with their boys, for most of them it doesn't work out. for example: LUDICRISS (DTP) T.I (P$C) 50 (TONY YAYO) BIG (JR. MAFIA) MASE (HARLEM WORLD) JAY Z (MEMPH BLEEK). I commend them on giving them the opportunity because i'm going to do the same thing.

Yeah, that's how it is. I'd give my boys the opportunity to do their thing, even though I'd have to run back and forth to Dallas to do it. Yayo's lyrics are about average, his vocal style is weak (considering this is after all the mixing is done). I can see havin' weak raw vocals, but after it was done professionally, it's supposed to bring the good out of that raw and focus on it. I just don't see it with him. As for most of the others you mentioned, I totally agree. DTP for example is weak as hell. I think I-20 ruined Move Bitch. I can still listen to it but only because Mystikal made that song hot with Luda in a distant second.
On that note, I can tolerate Memphis Bleek, but can't stand Junior Mafia, Harlem World, or P$C. But on the same level, I can respect that they're out there because that's showin' love to the people who showed you love first, so I really don't trip about it because that's how shit evolves anyway. I know most of the dudes I rap with have decent lyric style and average vocal ability. Shit, I even ghostwrote some verses for my best homie back in the day because he wanted to do some music with me. |
