MIDI to WAV

Are there any good freeware MIDI to WAV converters? I don't want to drop $$ on something that I may just not like the outcome and give up on but I am aware that with freeware you often get what you pay for. any suggestions?

So is kvraudio.com - I've just used it to find effects, but I bet they'll have something useful to you.

The 'render to wav' function in whatever host (sequencer, soft synth player, etc.) you are using would be the first place I would look...

Cubasis vst 5 can do it very cheaply but you only have the option of 8 vst instruments, however, some of the kids at the arts college where I work will record a vst midi mix down and insert the resulting wav into an audio channel, it does work, and if a 13 year old can do it so can you. Have fun
