Smile Connecting A MPC

I'm trying to hook up a Triton Le and a MPC 2000XL up together. what is the best method for hooking these two up? Would it be by themselves or through Pro Tools or something?

First, find the global utility page inside the Triton and set the 'Local On/Off' to 'Off'. This will break the connection between the keyboard and the sounds inside and make it possible to sequence them externally --- from the MPC.

The MPC is not only a tight sampling drum machine but a very flexible pattern-based sequencer also.

Hook a midi cable from the midi out of the Triton to one of the midi ins of the MPC. Now hook another midi cable from the out of the MPC to the midi in of the Triton. Now you are ready to start making music, and if you want to use the Triton sequencer be sure to put the MPC in external sync mode.
