what does RNC mean?
ive seen people use the term RNC when talking about studio foam... what exactly does it mean? is it the lower the number the better or what?

I've never heard the use of RNC when talking about studio foam.
The only thing i can think of relating to audio is the FMR RNC Compressor.

Have you got a link to where it was said?

NRC=noise reduction coefficient....

just a sort of richter scale for absorption.

RNC=outboard compressor that sounds like a plugin.
