Two "Proggy" tracks

Ok I know I`ve been posting here a lot latley...
But I just wanted some opinios on two more songs
So please bare with me, I think the critics from this forum is really exelent.

This is two songs from my older stuff recorded 4 years ago.
I`m also thining of redoing these songs, so any advice would be apreciated.

Theire both suposed to be 70`s sounding.

Nr1 Tribal Hysteria is a 70`s Progish Pop tune. with a time signature I cant figure out.
Anyone?

Nr 2 is As you vanish 70`s progmetal tune.
Inspired by King crimson and Black sabbath.

here`s the link; http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...?bandID=371963

Hope you like it and feel free to critisize...

thanks

Man! Where in your twisted mind do you come up with this stuff???? Very cool and nostalgic for me. Believe it or not, "Tribal" is in 4/4. There's weir meter happening within that 4/4, but it's 4/4 nonetheless. Great freaking tune.

"As You Vanish" is really cool, too. Nice mood changes. Has a Floyd "feel" to in parts, but not really a Floyd sound. Great dynamics in that song. This song has a 7/8 parts. You have an amazing vocal range by the way.

I would LOVE to hear you re-do these songs.

Well thanks Rami...
I really apreciate these critics.
It`s in 4\4 thats weird I always felt it was something else, but hey I dont know a lot about time signatures.
exept I love it when it breaks out of 4\4. wich I thought I did on the first track

But thanks for the heads up, I`m getting a drummer in the next week we might be trying to do one of the songs.

The last one might be included in my 70`s heavy\metal band.
As the drummer who never heard that song untill this summer.
was really keen on doing it.

thanks agian rami for your support and comments..
it means a lot.

Nak, just tap along to a song and count to find out it's time signature. When the pattern loops back to the beginning, it should tell you the time signature. In "Tribal", I just tapped and counted. It was hard to keep a steady count because the rythm was trying to throw me off. But I tapped and counted, and it looped at 8. So, it's 8/8, or 4/4. But it's incredibly clever that something in 4/4 can sound like that.

Well it beats me I just remeber having a really hard time on the Midi drum map, I finally got something I could work with.
The refrain part was allright but the other stuff really challenged me.
I cant even say if I got the rythm right on the midi drums.

the only thing I knew back then was that I tough it was a killer chord progression, and combine with the lyrics it just sound good.

I was really in to Jethro tulls Sweet dream from the album stand up at the time.

agian thanks for taking your time Rami.

Tribal Hysteria has an ELP feel to it. Yup, straight fours, with an extra little two count intro to the second part.

As you vanish is my favorite song of yours I've heard so far. Drums are a little strange sometimes, but the many themes are strung together well and I think your guitar work is excellent here.. You have a good sense of melody and harmony. Nice work.

Both these songs could use a little cleaning up at the beginning and ends.

You should fuck with his head and tell him that "Tribal" is in...like....11/8 or something. He'll probably spend a week trying to figure it out. It would be hilarious, man.

Thanks for your comments Supercreep deeply apreciated.
As you vanish is probaly one of my heavier song.
allthough I have one heavier, wich includes Blackmetal vox, Not mine ....
But its far from finnished yet.
all of these song could use some real bass and drums and some fixing and edititng.

thanks for the comments on the guitars supercreep, I`m not much of guitar player, I guess I`ll always will be going for that slow Gilmourish sound.

I might play like my hero Ritchie Blackmore when I`m 75 if I practice every day.

I cant wait to re-record theese tracks, as I think I`m a better vocalist these days.
So it should be exiting.

again thanks for the comments guys.

By the way, after getting into Alice Cooper as a 12 year old, the next band that I worshipped was Deep Purple, and especially Machine Head> I'm a Huge Blackmore fan. If there is one guitarist I wish I can play like, It's definitley Ritchie.

He is the master shredder aint he?
I mean this guy could play faster thanlightning while reducing his "gain overdrive sustain"(things that make it easier to play fast) as he went on.
Just listen to the album Burn, theres hardly any distrotion left.
I know he and Page were the big shots back than, but in my opinion Blackmore kills him ...
But thats only my humble opinion.

But Its way cool to have another blackmore fan onboard Rami

I sensirely thank you for that comment, but as it happened at that time I`d just taken to singing..
I was playing in this band and we dident have a singer and the guys said why dont you sing, and said ok after a while and yada yada yada.

I think and hope I have some more technique today, when it comes to breathing, pronouncing english, staying in tune and such.
at least I hope I have.

But I need to get some more practice with those high notes, they need to be maintained.

My dream is to one day be able to do the last scream on Child in time, you know the highest one ...
I`ve done a few apperances singing Highway star, and man that was fun, I actually got through the whole song, but I suspect the barrels with beer helped me

Since I darnk 9 beers today, I'm saying it's in 9/12.....not 3/4 mind you, cuz 3 beers isn't even a good start on a Saturday.....
Just finished listening to Tribal, and agree with the ELP sort of sound. I was trying to figure out why it sounded so different, and it's because I haven't heard any ELP in a while. Nak....killer voice. Cool song, but those vocals really fit well....Now, No. 2...
Ok, I hear the Floyd type sounds. Very different from the first tune...Again, great tune. Enough from me......
Thanks.

Yeah I had a beer to many yesterday(is that possible ).
Its wierd with the E.L.P simularities on Tribal, as when it was made I had barely heard of em.
But its very cool, as ELP are on of my biggest faves, I Love the album Tarkus

The last song has a very Floydish lyrics in my opinion, I`ve always been inspired by Roger waters.
I`ll never get close but even halfway to his level is very far.

Thanks for the comments on my vox.

Alrighty, typing as I'm listening...

Tribal - Cool intro, then boom, right into the song. Love that. Man, your voice is cool! There's some serious range there. Yeah this definitely has an older, 70s style feel. The transistions from the lower vocals to the higher faster ones is really cool.

As you vanish - Yeah this intro is so 70s. 70s rock is my fav, so this sounds awesome to me. You really did a good job with that 70s sound. When the vocals come in that sounds a lot like Floyd. Can't really hear some of the lyrics though.

Yeah this is great stuff, you should definitely carry through and redo them. The song structures and vocals are great, pretty crazy sounding 70s action. Keeps you guessing what's going to happen. I could imagine with some higher quality recording these sounding great. I think some more drum presence would sound cool too.

Good job

A beer too many....I could write a song about that...
Actually, it's not beer that kills me. I can drink 12 or 14 without feeling too bad. Now, give me some whiskey and coke, adn after a few hours of drinking, I need a nap, and may not get up till noon the next day. Now that is too much....but I do it a few times a year anayways....
Oh, and about the songs, the first one is just so smooth. Almost poppy, but has that prog rock feel that makes it oh so intersting...Nice.

I`d love to hear a song called a beer to many

I usually get by drinking a fair amount of the beer, and it usually the hard liqure that gets me.
But drinking and entering soberity without any sleep gets me off my tracks
