Mad Mush: Out of reach! Rocking!

Here's the latest recording from moi, in the everongoing quest to hurt the establishment. It's kewl and dirty. The great thing about it is that I sing really false and with a scandy accent, and i'm KEEPING IT! HAH!

Mad Mush: Out of reach.mp3

As always, I love to hear it when people like my stuff...

Rock on everybody.

-Mush.

This is total 80s, gotta like the voice! Keep it! Then there's the synth... yeah total 80s. It does sound like the synth is too loud at times, it drowns out the vocals a bit at points and sometimes guitar (maybe it's just my system) But anyway, fun tune man. Dig the vocals and the instruments sound good, just a slight bit unbalanced to me.

Rock on

glad you like it man!!!!!
yeah somehow i feel the unbalance in the mix is kinda refreshing, just like the offtune vocals, know what i mean?, i never recorded a tune with the guitars out of tune, but i'm heading there....

Ahh...now you go and release another! Just days after I'd written all your stuff to audio CD and blasted through the Scottish Highlands in a cheap rental (with a very good sound system) in pouring rain.

But then this sounds a little different. So maybe it should be kept separate from the rest.

Where do you get all these great melodic hooks from?

I like this stuff. The vocals are a little buried, tho. Like in some of your other songs. But maybe that's intentional. And it isn't really out of place, if you know what I mean. Just sometimes would be good to hear more of your lines. I'll strain to hear them. But maybe others wouldn't bother.

Ciao

Sure... fun tune! I know what you mean, there's actually a preset in my amp simulator (amplitube) called "out of tune"... I've always been tempted

You've been driving in the rain in scotland listening to my shit? No way! That's fucking brilliant?! at first i thought you must be an old buddy pulling my leg.

Well there's more coming, so you'll have another cd to burn in a couple of months

Sonic Youth does some stuff like that, sometimes they're a little too far out for me, but they've made some great music.

Wow, this is cool. I agree with the 80's sound. Very reminiscent of something that could have been on MTV at some point. Big sounds, and has a vibe to it that could just make you smile. This could have been in one of those teen movies.....kinda corny, but we all watch them for something to do. Vocs are a bit buried, but that really does seem to fit within this type of music. Cool tune.

Vocals could be a bit louder. Very nice pedal tone guitar part. Well written song indeed, this is cool.

dogman, supercreep, thanks guys

Lots of 80's vibe on this one, huh, I thought people were gonna say U2. You're right of course.... I guess coming of age in the 80's did make it's mark, even though I didn't really consciously listen to contemporary music then.

Must say thanks again for your post, aspiring. I sometimes feel like I don't reach out to anybody, which makes me question why I'm doing this!

I like the driving wall of sound - it just feels good. Vocal is good - wish it was a bit hotter in the mix and less compressed. Opening gtr sounds really good but is a little to hot, IMO.

Sounds like Mick Jones (of the Clash) fronting the Get Up Kids. Very cool.

Nice vintage 80s sound, especially the "eurovox"... I think the overall mix is a smidge top-heavy, a bit hot on guitars and keys, not enough drums, not enough vox. The master is riding the ragged edge too; did you brickwall it into about a 3db range? For as hot as it is, it doesn't have a lot of presence... I'd love to have the raw tracks on this to play with....

Llarion, thanx for listening/commenting/bumpin,

it's certainly got tech flaws, and performance flaws as well, but the more i listen to this, the more i like it. It's very spacious in the midst of it's loudness.

The flaws tickles my ears
