Do you record that Fender in the closet like that, or is it just there to stay out of the way?

Yo wx3,

Nice setup. You got some sweet equipment there. How do you like the Firepod and those Rockit monitors? I'm considering some similar purchases.

Yeah it's mainly just to keep it out of the way. I don't think it will effect the sound at all because it is usually close mic'd or d.i.'d.

The firepod is great. For the price, you get 8 high quailty mic pre amps and a reliable fire wire interface. What more could you ask for?

I also really enjoy my krk monitors. They are clear and seem to be very flat. They have plenty of volume for a space like mine. It's harder for me to rate them though, because they are my first pair of monitors. I would reccomend going with a similar set up tho.

Talking Goldeneye Poster

Nice studio - - - Sometimes the best recordings are made in a peaceful, quiet bedroom - - -

No acoustic treatment? That Goldeneye poster has to be doing something!

I'm running Cubase LE, it came with the firepod. Overall it seems to be just what I need, nothing fancy, and you can't argue with free. I'm into music as a whole. Anything that shows true tallent I can appreciate. But at heart, I'll always be a punk. Right now I'm really into bands like Silverstein, Senses Fail, and most of all Avenged Sevenfold. Anyone who hasn't check out avenged really should look into it. ---> Seize the day

I just got the pod xt today and a shure ksm 32. They are both turning out awsome.

I think you should get your monitoring station out of the corner, that is usually the worst place to monitor. Anyone else agree? Also it looks like your monitors are pointed very un-symetrically, sorry if thats not a word, im drunk. It is best to have your monitors setup so that they form a triangle with your head. Also move the CD player (i think thats what it is) that is up against the left monitor as it will give you unwanted reflections.
But you have a great start especially for someone your age. Keep it up.

Nice setup, but I second that you should reposition your moniters to get better results from your mixes.

Hahaha, cd player :P That's my computer

And yes, I agree with the monitor poistioning. I'm in need of some monitor stands to raise them up and get them at proper ear level and postion.
