Well, despite all the hype it is a four inch thin eight pound per cubic foot mineral wool panel.

That means that it WILL do the job. However it will not do the job any better than a mineral wool or fiberglass panel you put together yourself in a few minutes. His prices are about 2 to 3 times the raw material cost, which is reasonable, plus shipping which is always a bear for these kind of panels because they have to go oversize rates.

So if you can spend some time finding a supplier of semi-rigid fiberglass in your area you will be able to do it yourself for less.

Not only that - but I don't think the cost estimated above takes into account the cost of fire-retardant fabric. That pushes the envelope of the raw materials up a wee bit from the 3 times to probably closer to the 2 times the cost mentioned by my buddy Innovations.

Personally I wouldn't bother to build them myself when someone else can do the scratching for about 22.50 per panel. That's labor money well spent (from my perspective).

Unless you are really remote then I doubt that the nearest source is really 150 miles away, you just haven't heard of them.

Unless I am missing something he is charging $71 per panel for the four inch thick once shipping is included and $54.66 per panel for the two inch thick once shipping is included.

There may be places closer, but none that I've found.
The closest one I've been able to find is in Massachusetts.

I highly recommend the company. great great customer service. also i see alot of guys saying build it yourself but to get 2 4inch panels for 100$ is a hell of a buy in my opinion. there are people out there charging much more and the panels work great and look great in my room.

I thought why try and build myself when I could mess it up and then that money is wasted when there is a quality affordable product that works. I am sure the design concept is simple but the wrong leak in the wrong place and you just wasted your money. I am sure something is better than nothing but why risk it when there is an affordable solution.

I am now a true believe in the value of having a room accoustically treated. my bass is nice and tight and is an extremely noticable difference.

So count me for one person who says if your not a carpenter or just want it done right the first time for an affordable price go with them. I actually got to meet the owner and struck me as a hell of a guys and one who has a love for what he does and that shows through in his work. He really went out of his way to make sure I had everthing I needed.

My room sounds great. and it did not cost me an arm and a leg period. IMHO and as usual YMMV

Thank you all very much for even bringing us up. As a small company any shout out is great.
I can not agree more with just about every word that everyone of you said on this thread. Yes you can build them yourself, if you are handy with tools, don't really care if they don't look perfect, have the time to run around town picking up supplies and have the time to build it, then yea go for it. We have spent thousands of dollars on tools and train people to make sure ever panels comes out perfect. I think the only thing that is holding us back from really putting the push on is we do not have lab testing as of yet. We are really hoping to have the panels off to the lab in the next couple weeks so we can start to get reviews from magazines and other places.
Precise, a special thanks to you for not only the purchase but the kind words about our customer service. We really do work very hard to make sure every customer is happy and understands the product as well as possible. I think a lot of companies have forgotten that.

I can vouch for Glenn and GIK Acoustics. They have a great product, at a great price, and have great service.

I did research on building my own, and my cost estimates were very close to the cost of the delivered products from GIK.

I just hope that they make stands soon.
