I have tried for 4 yrs, unsuccessfully, to record into my computer from my tascam using SB extigy spdif line out. I run xp (newest upgrade) and used to have creative software. No longer do...how can I do this?? Thanks so much....tascam not much help.

You need to feed the signal from your 788 to the INPUT on the soundcard.

Thanks....but that I DO know. I have tried spdif out of tascam into soundcard with correct cable, I have tried analog out of tascam, both stereo and mono, into "line in" of soundcard.
At one point in the three yrs I have been trying to do this, I talked to a tascam tech who told me about having to make a master before anything will transfer, and NOT to forget "out" location. Maybe the Extigy is bad....nothing is registering in the computer....
