Help with Tascam US-122

I'm new to recording and have a question about the Tascam US-122.

I have a Roland XP-50 and Roland keyboard amp. I hate using the built-in recorder on the keyboard and thought of purchasing a Tascam US-122. What I need to know is if I can record my keyboard sounds onto the Tescam US-122 by positioning the condenser mics next to the keyboard amplifier.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes. You could also plug the keyboard into the line-in of the US122. You realize the US122 needs to be connected to a PC, right?

And the PC needs to be running somekind of recording software....
Run the XP directly into the US-122 line-in...much better than mics on a keyboard amp.

The XP 50 has too many menu layers ...the XP80 was an improvement...but still can't rival the best workstation Roland ever made..at least from an ergonomic standpoint..the JW50.

Thanks for the info.
Now if I plug the keyboard into the line-in part of the Tascam, what will be the sound source. I know that it will be connected to a computer, but I will be bypassing the keyboard amplifier. Will I get the same sounds from the computer as the keyboard amplifier.
Just a reminder I am new at this.

A good keyboard amp accurately reflects the input, so in a perfect world, yes. In the real world, close enought that you can fine tune the EQ in your recording software.
