i think i'll make a new flyer: BANNED FROM . . . . and list stores that either pull or refuse to sell my cd . . . .

make a "promotion" out of it . . .

LMAO Gullz did you try to push it in a Christian music store? I know you betta than that homie. Anyway, I'd try that approach, however, be careful because the store could try to sue you and/or your company for slander (making negative statements about them which they may see as a way to hurt their profits). I went through that myself in 2000 over personal matters.

I see where your head is, but wanted to give you real info on that tactic before you land yourself in some shit.

I don't think it's slander/libel if it's true.

If all you're doing is saying 'Check out this CD, it was banned from _______" then you probably would win a slander/libel case.

Yeah you're right about that, but, we don't know what ol' Gullz there was gonna say when he was trying to push his music. I just said that as a warning. On my end, I said a LOT more than that on a verse and almost lost a LOT of money for saying it. I was just smart enough to back myself up. But saying "It was banned from ___________." is truth and shouldn't be a contest at all. I still think it's dumb to pull a CD just because some people complained. If it was that easy, I'd be complaining on a whole lotta people just to see if it'd get pulled.

that sucks. if they don't sell hiphop though... I mean I wouldn't expect to get rock music into a vinyl store for electronic/dance dj's. There are plenty of places that sell independent hiphop. rap... don't they have to sell cd's out of their trunk? all the more reason to get a '64.

bump that out the trunk mess!!! i spend most of my time at work -- and when i get home, i still got other responsibilities to handle . . . im tryin to network and create apipeline so i can get work done in spite of all the other bullshit i gotta do

yea there are other stores, but i am also trying to grab people's attention!!! puttin my cd in the store that is also selling 100+ rappers, i will just blend in . . . and most of them cats have a lot more $ than i do for promotions . . .

im hopin to grab some folk's attention so that they will know of me when i start sellin in "that same old music store" . . . .

I see what you are saying. I just feel that you should at least consider that bashing a local record store might actually hurt you in the long run. After you've considered it, if you feel the potential publicity is more than worth it, go for it! fugg 'm!!
