M-Audio Enigma Software Troubles

with some encouragement i've decided to begin my own thread!

uh. anyhow. i'm using enigma with my recently purchased trigger finger. so, i open enigma up, piddle around with edits and whatnot, and send the data back to my trigger finger. this worked fine with notes, i customly assigned each pad a different note, and that went fine. however, whenever i assign knobs and sliders in enigma, they don't seem to get sent to the trigger finger.

if anyone could just lay down a simple step by step procedure or something, i think i'm just doing one simple thing wrong. or if anyone has any insight at all, anything will help.

thanks.

If you can set the notes but not the control sliders, you probably have some type of midi filtering set on the Trigger Finger itself that's not allowing the controllers to be set by external means. See if you can find that page inside the Trigger Finger.

Also, it may be a midi channel problem. Make sure the software and the unit are on the same channel.

Congratulations on starting your own thread!

i'm assuming they're on the same channel as i can transfer certain data.

here's where i really become confused. i toyed around with it some today. i was able to set two knobs but no others. i set those two nobs to control GM Volume and GM pan, both of which are pretty mundane. i'm not sure how it worked because then i tried to add more and nothing would send. i'm just very confused.

Be careful with inputting the settings. It never wants to keep the settings if you double click, enter a number, then click off. I think you have to physically click [Enter] to make a setting stick.

I ran through some buttons quicky and was pissed when it didn't work. I looked at the settings on that pad again and saw that they were all at the default value. Bah.
