Alison Fleming is on a distinguished road
Hi, I'm a newbie - alison fleming, actually English but have lived in MO for five years now. Working with a songwriter/producer in London and we swap music across the water.

I am buying another VS880 V-Xpanded - so I'll have two of them, yikes! - and want to link the two together.

I believe I need a midi cable and an audio cable to link; then I need to choose which one is to be the "master" to drive them both. I believe that I will be able to utilise all the FX processors in each.

However, my main question is, with the two linked together, does it give you the increased capacity of both hard disk memories, or can you only use the "master" hard disk memory?

Still pretty much a novice at all this digital stuff. Any and all info you can give about linking VS's together would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

All the linking will do, is keep the machines in synch together so they will play back and record at the same time. What you record on each machine will only reside on the hard drives of the individual machine (i.e. Machine 1 holds the first 8 tracks and Machine 2 holds it's own 8 tracks for a total of 16 together - the tracks are not intermingled between machines).

Hope that makes sense.

VS880's linked

Thanks Wish

I trust then, that if my CD burner is hooked up as per usual, I can bounce up to 16 tracks to tracks 7 and 8 of the master machine and then burn a CD as per usual?
