I got sucked in to creating a Myspace account cause everybody else seemed to have one. Since the guitar forum is where I spend most of my time here these days, I wanted to know who else had a Myspace for their music. I want to add all of you so I can check out your stuff.

Mine is http://www.myspace.com/mikegossett . Not alot there, no time. I need to get a groupie girl to run it for me! I know camn and Rats have accounts there, too. Just didn't know who else had gotten sucked in.

For anyone who doesnt know, they offer free webspace for you and your band/music and allow you to upload up to 4 MP3's of your music at a time. Good if you don't have money for a website. There's also alot of hot high school and college chicks with personal accounts.

I just looked and you have the dread BRICK WALL PHOTO, which means that someone is going to submit your picture to www.rockandrollconfidential.com where you'll be ragged on forever and ever and ever... You better fix this fast!

There's about two hundred brick wall musician shots on their site with appropriate comments. The other thing never to do is do a band photo on a railroad track, the other great cliche. Hey, someone got a brick wall AND railroad tracks in a single picture!

As much as I was opposed to myspace early, within a week or so of starting the myspace page, I found several really cool local bands with a similar style and got shows booked with them. I never had heard of them prior to that. It can be a cool tool, I guess.

I love that site. It's my favorite music-related page on the net by a factor of about ten. It's as perfect an advanced class on rock-image "don'ts" as you'll ever, ever get anywhere. Hundreds of examples!
