Yamaha electronic drums?

I just recently discovered a Yamaha Dtxpress kit for $400 with everything but sticks. Does anyone have experience with this setup? I've really only heard of Roland V-Drums and the [SEARCH] button revealed little.

Thanks

~Thane

Hey thane. I followed your link and I'm sorry to report that there's small print on that page saying that the item is no longer available. I Googled it, too, and it seems that every link available goes back to that same page. Bummer. That was an astonishing price.

The DTExpress was Yamaha's low end electronic kit. They first came out about 6 years ago with a street price (new) of $1,000. I thought they were a very decent value for $1,000 and if everything is in working order, $400 would be a great price.

The kick tower on the DTExpress was poorly designed and I saw a lot of them returned for service - but beyond that I thought the Express was better than the low end Roland kits.

I'm assuming this was when Roland was still using those horrible cymbal units that were prone to multiple forms of self-destruction.

Sorry for not mentioning it, but that is a USED price at Music-Go-Round in town here. It was still there last week.

Thanks to everyone for the input.....now the hard part: Coming up with 400 clams!
