Another AT4040 thread

I bought an AT4040 a month ago. It has been awesome for male and female vocals, acoustic guitar, and a drum overhead (these are all the applications I have tried it on so far)

I like it better than my 603s for acoustic guitar
better than my Oktava MKL2500 for vocals (now I want to sell it)
better than my MD441 for female vocals.

Now I want to try an AT4060

I suppose that's a valid point. What is it, specifically, that you like about it?

It seems to have a smoother high end than the other condenser mics I have, and. It is very natural sounding. The MKL2500 has kind of a weird peaky midrange that accentuates unpleasant qualities in my voice (I don't need more unpleasant qualities).

I like the 4040 too. I didn't like it for my voice as much as for the acoustic instruments I play. It like the detail and faithful reproduction. I like the 4033 at least as much although it sounds different than the 4040. It just goes to prove what I've read a hundred times in this forum: "No one mic will suit every voice."

Most everything I've read about the 4040 has been positive. I'm sure glad I bought it.
