Smile My new shopping list

So I decided to sell my HD147 and go analog. This is what I plan to get. I like instrumental rock and I invite your input. Everything here(except the MT-2) was put on my shopping list after getting recommendations from this site.

1- THD-univalve Tube amp: arriving soon
2- Boss MT-2 distortion- already arrived
3- Guyatone Delay: will order soon
4- TC electronics M300 Reverb: will order soon
5- TC electronics SCF chorus: still considering and leaning towards

Just for fun I plan to get a BOSS PS-5 shifter.
What do you guys think?
Thanks.

I'd love to have one of those THD heads. Should be a nice move from a Line6. I have the Duoverb combo which is pretty decent but it ain't no tube amp for sure.

ah, nice, you're not just going for a boss gt-6 or so,
i like it that you're buying seperate machines,
but someone just started a thread about "chorus", seems like not everyone likes that effect, do you?

i bought me a Sansamp psa-1 (amp simultor) , to me its not just a simulator, i call it my distortion machine
and besides that i got a joemeek vc8 fathead which sounds alot cleaner and its got this crazy opto distortion built in

but to me it seems like you're just buying equipment to play guitar, right?
are you gonna record stuff?
maybe you'll need a mic, a preamp, a soundcard,....
a mic that always works for electric guitar is , you know, the sm57,
but i prefer a sennheiser md421 , sounds more solid to me and you can always use it as a vocal-kick-tom-snare mic too :d

Thanks-
Yes, I like a tad bit of Chorus (it's like adding a little salt to your eggs). And yes I will certainly need to get a Mic- still researching if to get a condensor or dynamic mic, since I live in an apartment. I already have a AW4416 to take care of the pre-amp and recording.

I play guitar for fun and recording only.

By the way, I got a new THD univavle for only $659.00 from Avatar Speakers.

Thumbs up

So-after many hours of selling and buying- this is what I have as of today:

Guitar--->Boss_MT2--->GuyatoneMD3--->M300 reverb--->THD Univalve amp.

Just love the sound of it. There is so much life in the notes. This is the first time in my life I am owning a tube amp(after playing for 23 years). It has so much to offer. I am so glad I sold my HD147 and took this route.

If anyone is using a tube amp of 50W or more- then you definitely have to try the THD low power amps. They are really convenient to use in your apartment.

If you are still using a digital amp- the reconsider a Tube. You will never regret it!

I got all the equipment from recommendations from this forum. Thanks to everyone for their valuable inputs.

Still to get: Boss PS-5 & TC Electronics Chorus.
