Popping & Clicking sounds

Hi, I've been browsing your forums, and the m-audio.com knowledge base for over 2 hours now trying to find a solution to my problem.

I just bought a MobilePre USB interface and I have this horrible clicky/popping sound over any guitar parts. There's no problem with vocals though... there's an example on my purevolume page that has a short clip called Popping.

If anyone can help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like pick noise to me. Where are you focusing the mic? Try backing off on the mic a touch or focusing the mic somewhere other than at your picking hand (try focusing it below the hole and towards the butt end of the guitar ... that was an odd choice of words).

Also, does your guitar have a preamp? You might also try recording it DI through one of the MobilePre's Hi-Z inputs.

I have a fishman matrix II pickup, and I believe the mobilepre has a built in pre-amp.
