Recommendations for Mixer

Hey Everyone,

I'm currently looking into getting a mixer for home recording. My current rig is a p4, 256 mb Ram with an EMU 0404 soundcard.

I'm a singer/songwriter with 2 guitars and 2 vocals, + drum machine. I plan to layer on keyboards and bass on the final mixes. My price range is about $250 max.

The current ones I'm look at are the Behringer 12 series.... mostly the 1222FX. Any opinions?

Take a look at the Yamaha MG series. Much better mic-pre's than the Behringer. Also better EQ's.

And finally... the best selling point... it's NOT a Behringer

I've heard nothing good about Behringer it seems. But with the Yamaha MG12/4 12-Input 4 Bus Mixer, how's it work with guitar and drum machine?
Not to mention what about Mackie mixers?

I'm kinda lazy to get a guitar pre-amp since they're only gonna be acoustic. But if I had to, everyone recommends me to get the Line 6 POD...
