sample rate 32.01/44.1

Hello,
I was wondering how much of a difference it would make if I set my sampler to 32.01 for sequences/backing drums for live shows. I use a lot of different drum machines, so I'm putting them into my roland sp-808 to only have to bring the sampler for shows. Will it make a big difference in sound? I am going to run the sampler into the pa? For recording I would go with the higher sample rate, but I was running out of space on the disks, so I was trying to increase my sample time hoping it wouldn't make a huge difference

thanks,
evt

I find there's a big difference between 32KHz and 44.1KHz.... particularly at 16-bit.... whether that's noticeable in a Live situation is another story... try it and see!

for live it should work fine. i have converted samples much lower than that and have gotten useable sounds with my gig band.my ensoniq sampler limits me to 64 meg so i feel your pain in conserving memory. a good rule of thumb is to look at the material your sampling frequency wise and take the sample rate and cut it in half. in your case 32k sample rate in theory should give you up to 16k recording frequency range. thats a pretty full range and should allow you to get away with just about any sample with a decent quality. the other factor would be how your roland converts the samples downward. like bear said try.
