Degausser/tape eraser & other question
Hi folks,
New to using Sony TC 755A 1/4 inch reel to reel having fun though. Can't find a degausser in Aussie on ebay a few in USA but different voltage hear . don't want to buy something I can,t use. Can you erase tape useing a home made set up?Perhaps a dumb question. My father in Law is electronics instrument repairer air force trained guy Knows little about audio stuff but can fix and make stuff with a diagram. He might be able to make me something.Any one with info on this topic? I brought a couple of tapes they come from Deutsche Welle ??? some German radio programs on them seem to be in excellent order. When I tried to tape over them I could hear what I had done plus the original stuff that seemed weird like it was going backwards. Has it been recorded on a 4 track set up? Would like to use these tapes as they cost me $15 each LOL.You live and learn thanks guys. |
